Surfin Hot Chicken

Anytime we’re on the island the family demands Surfin’ Hot Chicken. Freshly fried chicken AS you order it! The biggest tenders you’ll ever see. The Mac & Cheese bowl is a must.

We absolutely loved our visit to Surfin’ Hot Chicken! The chicken tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—so flavorful. The fries were hot, golden, and seasoned just right, and the coleslaw was fresh and delicious, the perfect cool complement. I got the mild and my husband went for the spicy—both were amazing, but that Surf sauce really brought everything together. It’s a must-try! The restaurant was spotless, and the girl at the counter was so sweet and welcoming. Excellent service and even better food—we’ll definitely be back!

This is possibly the single most disappointing food item I've ever received from a restaurant. Pictured is their hottest option and they didn't even bother sprinkling their powder over both sides of the chicken. My somewhat-spice-averse wife took a bite and laughed. Not only was this not even remotely hot, it had zero flavor at all. Was the chicken boiled? Certainly not salted. The breading was soft and sagging off of the meat. We also grabbed a side of Mac and Cheese. Similarly, it was utterly flavorless. I only give it two stars because the fries were decent, the food was warm, and the service was prompt. After taking the attached picture everything went straight into the trash. I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I can honestly say this was the best chicken I’ve had in Surf City. Their homemade Surfin’ Hot Chicken sauce was incredibly flavorful and paired perfectly with the chicken. The mac and cheese on the side was creamy and just the right texture making the combo unbeatable. The place was very clean and the vibrant wall art added a special touch to the atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and I had the pleasure of meeting Allison and Sally who were both so sweet and genuine it really felt like home. Being a family-run spot, that warmth shines through in everything. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We went here just to casually get something to eat, without any expectations. This place is absolutely delicious. I think it’s mainly due to the fact that the chicken is real and not fake tasting . The fries were so good and well made. Definitely a must try. The customer service was above and beyond as well.
