Surf Bagel Milford

I went in this afternoon after a long day in which my husband had surgery. I was really tired, and since this place is so good, of course it was crowded and loud. That grated on me, but I wanted to get my husband the delicious food he’d been looking forward to. The third cash register at the pick up window opened up and I went to it. It was chaotic with people picking up orders, needing drink holders and napkins. The cashier was a very patient, extremely kind woman. She could tell I was irked. She was pregnant, and yet so calm and nice. I’m also pregnant and I was frazzled just witnessing the chaos. I have been to this location twice and both times my bagel was barely toasted and this time there was two big pieces of cold butter on the bagel. The bagel was barely hot so the butter wasn’t melting. Mind you it was a simple order plain toasted bagel with butter if you can’t get that right then you have a problem. I won’t be returning.

I’ve been coming to Surf Bagel for years, I was so happy when they finally got the location in Milford since it was closer to home. Anything I’ve ever ordered from their menu has been amazing, no mistakes, wrong orders, nothing. Any need for coffee, breakfast or lunch, Surf Bagel is the place to go for quality food and good prices. Definitely my recommendation for any tourists or newcomers!

The bagels are amazing! ALL of the locations can not toast a bagel for the life of them, so don't expect a toasted bagel even if you ask for a toasted well! I've decided I'll just bring my bagel home from now on....yeah it's that bad!

UPDATE (10/7/25): I went back to Surf Bagel in Milford, DE and spoke with the manager, Terry. He handled the issue very well. He was professional, personable, and apologetic for our two experiences. And though we did not ask for any recompense, he had me take a gift card for a next visit. We will give them another try based on how he cared about our concerns and exercised good customer relations.
