Stillwater

Stillwater is one of those places that really captures the laid-back Fairfax vibe. It has a great mix of good food, drinks, and live music, which makes it more than just a typical bar or restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a nice indoor/outdoor feel. It’s a great spot to hang out with friends or enjoy a casual date night. When there’s live music, the energy is fun but not overwhelming, and you can tell it’s a local favorite. Food and drinks have been consistently good on my visits. The menu has solid comfort-style options, and the bar makes quality cocktails. Service has also been friendly and attentive, even when it’s busy. If you’re in Fairfax and want a place with character, music, and a good community feel, Stillwater is definitely worth a stop.

Had dinner at Stillwater and it did not disappoint! The seasonal menu is creative and everything felt fresh and flavorful. Tried the roasted vegetables and duck, both cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive without being pushy. Cozy, modern vibe that makes it a great spot for a night out. Definitely adding this to my go-to list in Fairfax!

This is really more a bar with food, rather than a restaurant. The atmosphere is funny and lively with loud music playing. Seating is bar-like and spartan. Service was friendly and nice. I thought the food was fair and, while generally not expensive, dishes were very small. The garlicy noodles was in a tiny bowl, that was just noodles, butter and garlic. Why so small? No idea. Entrees are uninspired with a burger, fried chicken sandwich and scallops.

My family and I enjoyed dinner and cocktails here at Stillwater. They have $2 oysters on Tuesday nights. The food was superb, service was excellent and the ambience was very nice. The GM helped serve our table, he was very knowledgeable about the food and easily assisted those that had food allergies. Wish I lived in the area so I could come more often.

One of the best bar/restaurants in town; dimly lit, great local vibe; Eli especially makes spectacular cocktails. We had just happened by after supper at twilight on a Sunday; mezcal, whiskey, duck tacos, oh and the churros! all great.
