St. Clair Shores Public Library

The staff here was out to lunch it seemed they were all sitting around talking about how nice it was that the police station was gone cause the cops made them nervous. Seems like a strange statement to make when you have little ones around also they never have the book when they say they do but can’t blame the staff for people not returning books

The facility LOOKS great but it is closed until April 2026! This needs to be included in the overview.

It smells like a library. LoL It needs repairs and updating but it's a nice size library. They order books for you and you get them fairly quickly, so that's nice.

Very disappointed with this library. Librarians aren't usually friendly and are not involved with kids in the kids room. At my last visit a librarian didn't check in one of my books and now I will have to pay for it. I matched every book to the check out receipt as I placed them on the counter and here we are. I couldn't get the books back while having a baby and they wouldn't waive the late fee which would have been a kind gesture. The kids room is very outdated and doesn't have much to offer like other libraries. I can't wait to move out of the city so I can check out books again. We will be using other libraries through family and friends in other cities from now on.
