I struggled with this review because I always like to see the positive but there were definitely some challenges with my meal. The burgers and chicken wrap were very good. I had the steak quesadillas and really didn’t like it. It was very small, looked like chopped meat not steak and really no condiments. I asked for salsa and they didn’t have any. BUT all the other meals were good and it has a great bar vibe. I wouldn’t recommend for a heavier dinner.

South Front Tavern exceeded every expectation. The beautiful outdoor seating created a relaxed, chill vibe that set the perfect tone for the evening. It’s wonderfully baby-friendly and dog-friendly, which made the night even more enjoyable for our family. The food was absolutely outstanding—every bite full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The burger was simply insane, the gumbo had incredible depth, and the crab cakes were packed with lump crab meat and perfectly pan-seared. Each dish tasted like it was crafted with care and passion. The cocktails were equally impressive; my favorite was the Purple Haze—smooth, vibrant, and the ideal complement to the meal. This is a hidden gem for sure! We have been here twice now and both times were fabulous! BTW before I go any further - they have two specials right now - Wednesday is half price quesadilla's and Thursday they serve a $5 smash burger! Yes, we have had them both and they are both delicious - I will not reveal the cheese combo in the Quesadilla, but it is crazy delicious and the best quesadilla I have ever eaten. We have also had the Gumbo Ya Ya, the Potato leek soup, Chicken wings and the Carolina Blueberry bread pudding and OMG to every dish. Mark, the owner, and his staff are top shelf with great personalities and really make you feel valued and cared for. The atmosphere is casual but fun. We were there by 6pm and they were already out of Wings and the Beef Short Rib Chili. Their menu covers about 4 or 5 handheld and quesadilla options and 6 or so entrées. I wound up with the shrimp & grits cake entrée. My old fashioned came in a martini glass - ? All in all I would recommend this spot. My husband enjoyed his skirt steak.

Best burger I’ve had in a long time. Our server Jen was fantastic. She was friendly and smiley. The Plancha burger was phenomenal.
