Sombrero Beach

Sombrero Beach is a top-notch, ADA-compliant, public, white-sand beach located at Mile 50 in Marathon, Florida, a 2-hour drive from Miami. With calm turquoise Atlantic waters, it's ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. Amenities include shaded picnic pavilions, restrooms, showers, and a children's playground. It's open daily from 7:30 a.m. until dusk with free parking. Daytime parking is $5 per hour. I spent an unforgettable afternoon at this beach with my family. I will definitely return.

Very nice beach with shallow blue water. They have feet rince offs located at the different entrances. You do have to pay to park but definitely recommend and it does get crowded fast. We even enjoyed a turtle release from the Turtle Hospital located in Marathon.

Great little beach in Marathon with playground for kids grills and tables for BBQ, convenient bathrooms. Best to get there early as it can get crowded quickly. Metered parking steps away from the beach.

The beach was lovely, with many people and dogs enjoying swimming and relaxing. We had a pleasant time fishing from the rocky side of the beach and managed to catch a few good-sized snappers, along with other fish. There was a steady flow of people throughout the day. Parking required a fee of $10 for two hours. The park also provided a large playground, a volleyball court, restrooms, a fishing pier, and a wash-off area, covered picnic tables, bbq's, among other amenities.

Beautiful and clean. Very well done with the park for the kids, and a place to spray off your feet once you come off of the beach.
