Takeria La Palapa

Visiting from VA, decided to look up some good Mexican spots in Marathon, although it was rainy and cold decided to try Takeria La Palapa, and my oh my! This was the best experience! I told the person that took my order if he could recommend anything and he said “everything is good” and I was like… hmmm ok… and then he continued and said that they make their own tortillas and the chicken, chorizo, asada and carnita tacos were really good and let me tell you, he wasn’t lying. My friend ordered the chicken quesadilla with rice and beans and she gives a 10/10! The corn cup was out of this world good! I would make it a trip back to Marathon just to eat their food again!

Hands down the best tacos I’ve had in all of the Keys. We went to Taqueria La Palapa today and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I ordered two al pastor tacos and one chicken taco, and every single one was packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and served on fresh, warm corn tortillas. We got them to go, and they traveled really well—still hot, not soggy, and just as good when we sat down to eat. We also ordered the churros, which were delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. As a local, I don’t say this lightly — this spot is a gem in Marathon. Amazing food, great quality, and well worth stopping in. We’ll definitely be back!

I was getting groceries for my stay in Marathon for the week and a guy walked by with another guy shouting “you have the best tacos in Key West” so naturally as a visitor, I went up to him and said where are these tacos you speak of? I came today and he was not wrong. The food is delicious, the seasoning on the fries is delightful, it’s well priced, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I can eat the same thing everyday so I might just be eating tacos the rest of my stay.

Delicious and cheap tacos! We ate here two of the 4 nights we stayed in Marathon because they were so good. It's a lowkey taco truck with a decent amount of seating. They even have a small sink where you can wash your hands afterwards which was needed! Staff were very friendly.

Awesome tacos. This place has 5* reviews only for a reason. We saw this and came with high expectations and were not disappointed.
