Societa - Sicilian Panificio Pizza & Grill

Visiting from out of town and was looking for something local. Found Societa nearby and decided to drive down and give it a try...And what a great decision that was! When you walk in, the esthetic in here is awesome. Plants, books and just the all around look is great. I assume to owner took my order and he was a great guy. Very likable, very nice and super knowledgeable on everything! I decided to go with the classic Margherita pizza. When it came out the oven, it looked and smelled incredible. The crust had that crunch and char you look for in a wood fire pizza. Absolutely perfect. The size is perfect for one person. Amazing its only $15! This is a MUST TRY pizza place in tbe Durham area!

What a wonderful night! Truly a special place. The pizza is perfectly cooked. Crisp crust without losing the moist, chewiness in the crust. It holds up to the fold. The ingredients are high quality and well balanced. Fresh acidic tomato sauce paired wonderfully with the sharp cheese and anchovies on my pizza. The hot honey melded with the cheese and pepperoni of my husband's pizza creating bright sweet heat. The owner is a joy. Welcoming and funny. You are instantly at home. The soundtrack is low key Euro trance. All together a great place for a meal, a conversation, a date, anything.

11/7 This is week four? Or week five? I don't know. I've lost track. We've been here every week since I've opened and the food quality has continued to be exceptional. We absolutely love coming here for our date nights on Fridays or any other time during the week. They are closed Saturdays and Sundays. So if you're looking for a great night to go out for a date, make sure it's any other night. Giuseppe and Kelly are fantastic hosts and the crew that is doing the exceptional Pizza making is behind the counter. They can certainly keep up with big demands and they don't disappoint. If you're looking for a romantic or relaxed place, definitely come here. It's very intimate and quiet and it has good music. Someone in my neighborhood posted about this place and so glad they did. Food was excellent. Prices are incredible. Great spot for people to enjoy lunch in RTP. You can get a slab (two pieces of Sicilian pie) and a drink for under $10. Hope to come back soon to try one of their entrees/coal fired pizzas as well.

AMAZING! Wonderful family owned/run business! We had the pleasure of being served by Giuseppe and his beautiful wife. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had (yes I’ve lived in NY,NJ and many places all over the world). We had the Margherita and the San Gennaro. We lucked out on picking this place for a girls night out. I can’t wait to go back and bring the rest of the family!! Please try them…you won’t be disappointed!!
