Serrano's A Family Mexican Restaurant

I went in with hope and left with trust issues. Normally, when you’re in Missouri, you expect Mexican food to be… let’s say Midwest-interpreted. But plot twist: this place is actually Mexican-owned, which somehow made the disappointment even more impressive. Everything had onions. Not “a little onion.” Not “garnish onion.” I mean ONIONS ONIONS ONIONS. If you ordered dessert, I’m pretty sure they would’ve sprinkled diced onion on it just to stay consistent. I ordered a taco salad and found actual ice cubes in it. Not “cold lettuce.” Not “chilled bowl.” ICE. CUBES. Nothing says authentic like a salad that doubles as a beverage cooler. The soda? If you're traveling through Clinton, like Mexican food, wouldn't mind a beer or margarita and have time for a nice sit down meal, this is the best place in town. Good service, fast service. South side of the square downtown. This is our go-to place if we're hungry & have time.

Bright and clean, friendly service, great flavor! Chile rellenos are great, the batter is strongly seasoned and no shortage of cheese filing. Spinach enchiladas hit the spot if you need veg but aren't feeling a salad and they don't skimp on flavor. The house salsa is good and they had proper picante on the table side. So glad we drove in to town to eat rather than stopping near the highway!

My first time here today,and I was thoroughly surprised at the awesome service, and the great food! I ordered shrimp and steak fajitas,and got my food three minutes after ordering! God was it ever good!!! Waiters and waitresses are super friendly and very helpful! I have just found my new favorite restaurant ❤️❤️

After spending a great deal of time in California, New Mexico, Arizona, and the low desert areas of the Southwest United States, moving back to Missouri was greatly disappointing. We tried "authentic family" Mexican restaurant after restaurant, to no avail. It was all very "watered down"... until we tried Serrano's , in Clinton Missouri. I would go so far as to say this is the best Mexican food restaurant in the ENTIRE state of Missouri. We drive 30+ miles now every time we want truly authentic Mexican food. I've lived in much bigger and more populated areas of Missouri, NOTHING else here even comes close to Serrano's quality of food. The atmosphere and staff is top notch!
