Sanity Coffee House

I had my first experience of Sanity Coffee House on my way out of town. I decided to grab a hot chocolate. The workers were very kind and the atmosphere would be one I would come back to to chat with a friend or get some work done. I was not impressed with my drink. Upon ordering, I heard the worker shout back for someone to prepare milk for hot chocolate. My drink came in a timely manor and then I was off to my travels. Once on the road, I decided to take a drink and was not impressed at all. My drink was warmish and not hot. It also did not taste like chocolate. It tasted like caramel flavored milk and was way too sweet. It did not satisfy my chocolate craving. I’d like to believe that if I was dining in and brought my drink back to them, they would happily replace it.

The food is so good, I was expecting to spend at least $30 for two people. For two paninis, two coffees, even with upgrades, it was only about $20 before the tip. I asked them to make me a surprise drink with the exception of no artificial strawberry as I am severely allergic and boy did they deliver. They made me this amazing frappe and made sure to be mindful of my allergies. 10 out of 10 would come back and highly recommend.

If you’re heading through Iowa, stop at Sanity Coffee House for a pick me up! Our family loves to road trip but there are limited places with easy access off the highways that are not overpriced, good quality and friendly/clean environment. We’re on our way to Minnesota from Florida and had an awesome experience! The breakfast paninis and latte were so good!! Would highly recommend. 💯

If you have the chance, and it’s early enough, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop and enjoy this gem of a coffee house. Seriously, the atmosphere and the welcoming nature of the employees is the start and it only gets better from there. I happened by it on my way out of town and I’m so happy that this is my last stop in this lovely town of Mount Pleasant, IA. And it truly is a pleasant place.

Cool coffee shop. Black 16 oz coffee was great!!! Banana bread was awesome!!!
