Saldamarco's

Cold and snowy day, had a hankering for plain old chicken cutlet with mayo on hard roll. The cutlet is perfect, NYC quality top tier hard roll. Fair price. Grabbed some of their eggplant Parm to bring home for dinner. Can't go wrong. Thank you Saldamarco!!!

We spend Christmastime over many winters in Westbrook, driving from the Farmington valley area of Ct. We can't imagine it being worth while unless we visited Sal D's every time. To say the food they create is exceptional is an understatement. It is authentic Italian. They make the best eggplant sandwich we have ever eaten and we have eaten in many cities in Italy. The meatballs are the real deal. Not the usual ground beef toughies you normally get. The texture is gourmet quality and the taste of several types of meats, makes it superior. The amount of food for the cost is a nice feature. Thank you Sal D's for the friendly service, and all the hard work you do to feed us out of towners....a MUST stop for all!!

We go to Saldamarco’s every time we come back to Connecticut which is once or twice a year and I make it a priority to get my sandwich! I may get the simplest thing that I could probably make at home but it is so much better coming from here, best ham cheese and mayo sandwich on a roll! We get great service every time we come in and everyone working there is exceptionally nice and kind!! And Thank you to the gentlemen at the register this morning & he noticed my husbands sandwich they put it on a roll instead of a sub and we had already paid he came running out before we left to give us two dollars back for the difference and made sure to as using we wanted it remade! I didn’t catch his name but I see him every time we go in there and he’s always super kind to us!

THIS PLACE IS FABULOUS! I absolutely LUV AUTHENTIC OLD SCHOOL ITALIAN DELI’S. (This is not some fancy schmancy NEW AGE DELI so move along if that’s what you are looking for). My family roots are entrenched in the Boston area & we REVERE these kind of places. I don’t know what’s up with the other reviews ppl are leaving bc I had a chicken cutlet sub 12” LTO provolone drizzled with oil & vinegar $11.99 & IT WAS DELICIOUS! The chicken breast cutlet was great quality & pounded perfectly thin & was accompanied by shredded iceberg, thinly sliced tomatoes & red onion. The o&v mixture was EXCELLENT & they put the perfect amount on the sub. ALL THESE things are important when making a GREAT SUB. The sub roll was pillowy but had a nice slight chew which held up nicely against the drizzle of o&v. The

My wife and I recently visited the area mid morning. She got a bit hungry and wanted to stop at a gas station for a quick snack but I declined and said how about we look for a small deli. A quick Google search put us 1/4 mile down the road and into the small parking lot of Saldamarco's. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and our order was taken. We meet a regular "happy to talk" young lady and had a few moments of conversation and as she went on her way, our breakfast sandwiches were done. We also purchased a small pasta side, loaf of fresh Italian bread, and left. It seemed like a nice normal deli. That was until we began to eat. AMAZING!
