Sages Pub

I absolutely love Sages, it’s a wonderful addition to the Brattleboro community! The tuna tartar is to die for and I love their version of a Hot Toddy. I always feel welcomed and nourished by their atmosphere, staff, and incredible menu. It’s like if your local bar had shockingly good food and great vibes! How lucky are we?!

We arrived around 4:30 and were among 3 other tables who walked out by 5:15. I can’t say how the food is, because in 45 minutes we didn’t make it far enough to order any. By the time we got a drink order in, the server placed the glasses in front of us and vanished. A table within earshot (dealing with the same problem) had to flag him down to ask if they could order food. And only then did we hear him tell them “by the way, we’re out of paninis.” Aside from some small plates, you have 4 “entree” options and you’re out of 3 of them? And you’ve been open for all of 30-45 minutes? It’s appalling that they have a “code of conduct” on the back of their menu with instructions on how patrons should act, but their staff isn’t trained enough to do the bare minimum as servers. Brand-new Brattleboro gastropub with superb paninis, small plates and - seriously - gourmet waffles (add pastrami or tzaziki, for instance). Drinks are equally inventive and excellent. They're just getting their legs, so service is slow and bit confused. But worth it.

Great spot! Finally got to try their food and I’m very happy with what we got. Great beer selection and a good spot to hang out before a movie.

Great new spot with innovative cocktails, friggin delicious paninis, and a fancy waffle menu to boot. Everybody seems welcome, and things move at whatever pace you’d like. Take your time, or grab a quick bite. (Seriously, the paninis on that house made focaccia bread are worth writing home about.)
