Inn on Putney Road Bed and Breakfast

The Inn on Putney Road exceeded our expectations. Wonderful room, furnished nicely, cozy, with plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was nicely done and other guests we met were a 'plus'. Location just outside of town is convenient yet quiet and nicely sited. The parlors and other shared spaces were especially nice with all the special things to make it homey and inviting. A perfect place to spend Christmas Eve and Day while visiting family in the area. Already planning to come back next year !!

We needed a quick trip out of town and chose a couple of locations in Vermont and New York . Brattleboro being one of them. We were seeing historic sites and stopped here for 2 nights. We loved the feel of the house. ||Lovely fireplace with a cup of coffee or cocoa in the early evenings. I enjoyed the afternoon of painting/drawing in the sunroom on the second floor. |Being January, the snow was Beautiful!! Just what we wanted, to cozy up and make it an early night- but that’s what we needed. ||We enjoyed the thrift/vintage shops!

I chose the Inn due to its proximity to downtown shopping and it's quaint appearance. We were welcomed even before arriving and the check in process was simple and efficient. ||The Inn has the charm of a house built almost 100 years ago and the hosts were extremely accommodating, assisting with anything we needed. I spent a lot of time sitting by the main fireplace reading a book, getting warm after a cold day of sightseeing. I enjoyed meeting people at breakfast but also having the space to dine without feeling the pressure to converse with others. ||Speaking of breakfast. Both mornings we were there the breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE. Fresh, delicious, hearty, surprising (a wonderful salad for the first course), and hot right out of the kitchen. Lovely stay at Inn on Putney Road. It's a old but well kept up building with very comfortable beds, well appointed rooms. By well appointed they have thought of everything: coffee, snacks, water, tea, even little details like feminine hygiene products. The common space is cozy with a fire, and coffee/tea/cookies all day. HOWEVER, the staff are just delightful and go above and beyond. Both Marie and Shana are so helpful, DELICIOUS cooks, and go out of their way to make the stay special.

My niece and I just spent 18 days in New England staying three nights each in six different locations. Our stay at The Inn on Putney Road was, by far, our favorite. My niece stayed in The Mountain View Room and I stayed in The Ripley Suite. Both rooms were absolutely beautiful. Each had everything you could ask for. While I enjoyed the room with the separate living area, she chose to spend her evenings after our daily adventures in her room enjoying everything it had to offer. We typically don’t eat breakfast but we made an exception while at The Inn on Putney Road as Paul’s breakfast are not to be missed. He must have been a professional chef in his prior life.
