Rx Chicken and Oysters

This was my first visit to Rx Chicken and Oysters since they reopened with a more casual dining concept. While the original Rx leaned toward a fine-dining experience, the new approach feels relaxed and inviting without sacrificing quality. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was outstanding across the board, and our waitress was truly exceptional. I would highly recommend the Lucy Bea oysters and the blueberry hand pie for dessert. We had a wonderful time and will absolutely be back.

We took some friends to RX Chicken & Oysters last night. Our first time there as well as theirs. Lily was our waitress and was excellent. She made recommendations and told us her favorites. We have Oysters Rockefeller, Fried Oysters, Crab Cakes, Blueberry Hand Pie and Dark Chocolate Brownie. The food was excellent. We will be back!

Hiddem gem in Wilmington! As a pharmacist, I was initially intrigued since this restaurant used to be a pharmacy (although the decor & inside is not pharmacy themed) but we decided to try it based on the food options. Our waitress was friendly & knowledgeable. We aren't big seafood eaters so she took the time to explain the catch-of-the-day options. We had never heard of lionfish (see pictures for a sculpture of this spiky fish) but my husband decided to try it. And it ended up being his favorite meal of the whole trip! It's a little pricey, but you can taste the quality & freshness of the food. Everything was delicious & well-prepared. Highly recommend trying a dessert served with their soft-serve ice cream. Deviled eggs had too much filling and mustard taste. Oysters were over-seasoned with spinach and not all the way full. Fish fresh catch was amazing. Chicken was ok nothing special.

After a dud of a seafood meal the previous night, we were looking for a redemption meal. We found it at Rx Chicken & Oysters! The food is sustainable, locally sourced, and outstanding! Many places tout the “sea to table,” but few actually give you food that truly tastes like It. Rx wrote the book on it! We had the spiny lobster tail hush puppies, skillet corn bread, grouper with spiny lobster tail rice and heirloom tomato reduction, grunt with grits, seasonal vegetables and citrus and herb butter, brownie with soft serve, and blueberry cobbler. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly! The fish had amazing flavor and the crust was just right. The tomato reduction had incredible flavor!
