Rockport Public Library

Great small town library. Internet access is available and they have a new slightly bigger parking lot. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the best libraries in the midcoast.

Because I was alive when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I seem to remember libraries being an oasis of quiet. At what point in our cultural evolution did this change? Rockport Public Library is a beautiful space, and as an author finishing my next book, I am truly grateful to have a quiet room with a door in which to work. But the clerk behind the front desk would not stop talking AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS. He was talking about the floors, and the sanding that is going to be done, and and and. What happened to the good old days when people -- especially the clerks! -- whispered, or at least spoke softly? Again, a lovely place --- but please, clerks: shhhhhhh!

Beautiful place to visit with tall ships across the street sitting in the bay need l say more.❤

Enjoyed the Book Fair - books and people! However, finding a parking spot was definitely a problem.
