Customer Reviews
A busy weekend in Ellijay, 3rd Weekend of October, and the 2nd week Apple Festival. Good selection of beers on draft and many more in bottles or cans. The Tavern seemed understaffed for the weekend causing staff to be overwhelmed and service slow. I had great hopes with the name of tavern, bar would be a more appropriate name. Menu was creative but left our palettes wanting. Beercheese tasted like just regular cheese. The seasonal Apple burger was nothing special. The Fig About it, was lacking in figs spread. What dropped the score from a possible 4 and almost got a 2 was the fries. On the cool side of warm and definitely not hot. An inattentive kitchen is the possible cause. The Guniess was priced lower than most places (6.00), and came out in probably a 12oz glass, rather than a pint. I
Great vibe in this little tavern. Chicken wings were very good. Wife's Reuben was great as well. It wasnt too awful busy being just after noon on a Sunday but our server seemed to be extra busy flitting around. Gabbing with other employees, etc. Other servers were super attentive, especially to those who were clearly regulars. Food was worth the lack of service. Will definitely go back.
Very welcoming walking in, we were seated quickly, and our order was taking. The meatloaf was good but had lots of filler ingredients like onions. We love onions, but maybe it could have been mixed more thoroughly. Not a fan of putting foods in a bowl. Look how I plated it without the bowls. It looks like a complete meal without all the extra dishes on the table. The sweet potato was awesome, bbq sandwich left me wanting more, didn’t see any smoke ring. It was moist but not smoky.
Great menu with tons of appetizers, amazing wings and a really cool burger that has bison, boar, elk and wagyu beef. Friendly staff with good service. We had a great meal here.
5 Stars – Great Food & Vibe! We visited River Street Tavern during our cabin weekend getaway, and it was the perfect spot for a fun, laid-back dinner. The food was delicious—everything came out hot and fresh, and the menu had a great variety of options to choose from. The atmosphere was casual and inviting, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating, especially with our large group. We all left full and happy! Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for good food and a good time!
