refresh Eatery

This is one of my favorite places to eat in town I'm not even joking. The food is great quality at a great price, and a huge variety. They also have very good water, and the donuts are the best. (Note the variety is only available during business hours)

While being a long term patient at Carle, I was allowed to order from the "late night" menu which was from refresh eatery, my nurses all told me how great it was and told me to go down to the basement and help myself. I did and it was a great experience, a few days later I went down again and I was yelled at by staff that I was not allowed down there and if I wanted anything my nurse would have to get it for me even though it was my nurse who tolde I had special privileges due to being a long term care patient. I immediately left but it was very embarrassing as there were several other people around that overheard the whole thing. This is how refresh eatery treats it's patients I guess.

Pros: -tasty salad bar, and assortment of grab and go snacks and various foods -they often give employee discount even to people such as myself who are not employees. This is much appreciated by patients such as myself who might be at Carle on recurring occasions -good assortment of free individual condiment packs such as salt and pepper and hot sauce etc. -they have a station for free ice and water Cons: -at the fountain drink station, the lids are difficult to get out of the holders easily, which causes the line at fountain drinks to not move smoothly; there is also nowhere to set cup down to put lid on, so have to hold up the line further to put lid on behind the drink area -I have found egg shells in eggs on salad several times -employees who serve at salad bar often drench way too mu

The Refresh eatery in the basement of Carle Hospital was clean, the food was good, the staff was friendly.
