Potter's Bakery

So many large, beautiful pastries I had a hard time deciding what to get! Definitely takes the spot as my favorite donut shop and I live 2.5 hours away. The staff were super friendly and the prices are very fair for the quality of food, $2-$3 per pastry, and these things are bigger than your hand! Will come again next time I'm in town for work.

My husband and I are visiting Traverse City this weekend and I’m so glad we came across this bakery. Everything we tried was so delicious! I was so blown away by the beautiful artistry on the cookies. The employees were so kind and welcoming, we can’t wait to come back and try more goodies!

I can’t offer anything about the actual business because I’ve never been there but I’ve eaten their Glazed Sour Cream donuts and they’re the best in America as far as I can tell. And I’ll walk out of a bakery with nothing if they’re out of Glazed Sour Cream. They’re large, gnarly and perfectly firm on the outside and cakey on the inside. I camp up near there every October and always get several for the few whim there.

My folks introduced me to Potter’s over 30 years ago. Their English Muffin bread was a staple in my parents’ freezer. It became a family favorite and it continues on with my grown kids. In fact, I asked my son to stop in during his trip to Traverse City this weekend. Their cakes and cookies are amazing too!!!

I am not sure how anyone could give this bakery anything less than 5 stars. I stopped in around 11:00 on a Saturday and the case was filled with delicious looking treats. The employee was so kind and patient while I decided on my order. I got a box full of deliciousness, loaf of fresh bread, three dog treats and a perfect cup of coffee for a mere $18! Unheard of in 2026. I will make sure to come here every time I am in TC!
