First, food: four stars for consistently nailing chopped salads, Chicago dawgs, Italian beefs, and juicy burgers. The chopped salad is a lean, yet protein-rich choice that is tastefully savory when topped off with house dressing. My kids like to dip fries in the cheese sauce. Four stars for service because crew members with cheery attitudes call out order number with playful jingles like, "order 29, time to dine" or "order 44, wait no more." Way to have fun with it! Five star atmosphere because this location's interior decor pays place-specific homage to the roaring 1920s. A careful eye will catch details true to the prohibition era. My first time eating at Portillo's but not my husband's, he recommended this restaurant, and it was beyond delicious 😋 clean, friendly staff, wait was long but well worth it. Would definitely be going back when we visit Illinois again.

Portillos in shorwood we arrived just before 1130am 11/25. I ordered the Italian beef &sausage food was hot and good would have liked to have more in my serving but was good. My wife ordered the number 5 salad she said it was good and filling. Very busy and bathrooms were OK not dirty. Food was hot and fast.

We stopped in on a buisness trip to grab supper. This was our first time there and was very much satisfied. We will definitely be stopping in again our next trip through.

The grilled chicken salad was excellent. The ribs were good. Restuarant was pretty dirty, lots of employees, and not too busy. Wish they would do a other good gluten free option.
