Customer Reviews
I got the char grilled shrimp spring rolls for takeout. The rolls were not very full and the rice paper was tough. Overall disappointing for nearly $20 for 4 spring rolls. Of the many Vietnamese food places in town, unfortunately I would not recommend.
This place was fine, honestly, but I was looking for amazing. I know NOLA has a large Vietnamese population, and as a pho connoisseur, I couldn't wait to find a local spot. This has the best reviews, but I was a little disappointed. The broth doesn't have much flavor - just salty. The chicken spring rolls were dry. It was a little bit of a let down. The staff were super friendly and it was very clean at least!!
Walked over on my first day in New Orleans and greatly enjoyed my meal. I got the CM 12 and AP 14 to eat in the restaurant, and two banh mi to-go for lunches the next couple days. Everything was perfectly made and presented beautifully, and the flavors were so good. I absolutely hope to be back. Great experience.
Delicious Vietnamese cuisine brought to the states in the 1970’s and has continued to be one of the most well known and visited restaurants serving culturally original Vietnamese food. To this day, I have yet to find a restaurant that can compare with Pho Tau Bay’s bowl of Pho. Hands down the best I’ve had. Classy but casual atmosphere in downtown New Orleans. A must visit establishment for Vietnamese food lovers (especially the pho). Just ask Emeril Legassey who makes the best Phi not just locally, but anywhere. 😉
I had a well done beef and sausage pho here before a show at the Saenger Theater. Spacious, well lit, and very clean space. The staff are very helpful and efficient. The pho and toppings were so fresh. Bathroom was super clean. Always a great sign of pride in cleanliness by staff and management.
