Inn at the Old Jail

I’d highly recommend staying in this piece of history. It’s a very unique accommodation. It’s not everyday I’ve had an uber driver drop me off at a hotel and say “back when I was a juvenile delinquent, I had to stay here back in the day”. The caretaker, Todd, was good at responding to my questions via text. The communal area is very pleasant and the coffee station is stocked. During Mardi Gras, the king cake was a nice touch. Cheers!

This place was amazing to stay in! The concept altogether is fitting for being in NOLA but this was very cool! The rooms and entire Inn keep the old 1900s jail feel but with modern updates for comfort which I 100% appreciated! And the bedding...it was like sleeping on a cloud! It was hard for me to get up in the morning because I was TOO comfortable! The bathrooms were so clean and I loved the rainshower! My recommendation there would be to replace the shower liner. But towels, washcloths, and bedding smelled fresh! Like they just came out the dryer with that nice clean scent...I loved that! There is find your own spot street parking, but I can say I NEVER had trouble finding a spot next to the jail, and I was in and out alot. This place is privately owned and the owner was VERY nice! Inn at the Old Jail is a true gem in Treme. It's got spacious, comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The common spaces provide wonderful gathering spots. Todd, the owner, is a familiar presence and provides lots of great advice about local restaurants and happenings. I love the super-local, "neighborhoody" vibe of the place.

This is such a unique and fun place to stay. There’s history, there’s style, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We were also told by some locals that we’re staying in the coolest neighborhood in New Orleans!

I cannot even begin to explain how incredible our stay was!!! From the moment we walked in the door we were blown away by the ambiance! It’s so eclectic and unique and just down right stunning, it takes you a moment to catch your breath. Add in that the incredible service with nothing but good vibes- I couldn’t have asked for more. Everything was so clean and just perfection. Todd was literally TO DIE FOR! He was welcoming and friendly, on a casual levee- you could feel the love and pride exuding from the moment we got there. I’m telling you- when you meet someone with such a beautiful soul, you realize you absolutely made the right decision on booking. We will undoubtably be back soon!
