This was our second time visiting this restaurant and, again, the food did not disappoint. Our table had a variety of items including cornbread, steak with truffle fries, a salad with grilled chicken and the fish tacos with salt and vinegar chips. Also had their house red wine and it was good. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining. Inside, the bar is in the dining room and it is pretty loud and made it harder to hear everyone at the table. Something that is pretty nice is the bar opens to an outdoor bar and sitting area. It was pretty cold outside but the restaurant had heaters. Despite the cold, this area was being utilized and enjoyed by the clientele. We’ve also been here for brunch and again, the food was excellent. Definitely need to have Perla on the list of restauran
Came on a crowded Saturday night & was happily surprised that we instantly got seated. The restaurant looked nice and clean. The waitress was kind and attentive. Had the tuna tartare and it was so delicious. I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It’s one of the best dishes I’ve tried in Wilmington. The dish was cohesive and every component was very flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve ever had. We also had the flounder, which was great. Flounder itself isn’t very flavorful, but the seasoning and other elements of the dish really made it nice. My only regret is that I didn’t discover this restaurant sooner.
Stopped in for a lite dinner and drinks on a Saturday night around 6:30. Since they don't take reservations, we used the call-ahead feature two hours prior, which worked perfectly—we were seated immediately with no wait. The food and drinks were the highlight. We ordered the Hugo Spritz tower for the table, which was amazing, and the Seafood Tower was just right for what we needed. The Perla Oysters were definitely the favorite! Our server was very nice, but the experience ended on a weird note. We felt awkwardly rushed when we were approached multiple times (twice by the server and once by the host) to clear our table while we were still actively eating and drinking. We eventually agreed to consolidate the tower, but the pressure to turn the table put a damper on an otherwise great evenin
Perla has quickly become my favorite dinner spot every time I’m in Wilmington. From a chef-driven perspective, it’s one of those rare places where technique, restraint, and soul all live in perfect balance. The oysters are consistently pristine, the mussels are the best I’ve ever had — deeply flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the kind of dish you think about long after the table’s been cleared. The ceviche was clean, bright, and thoughtfully composed, and the tuna was exactly as I remembered from my first visit — precise, confident, and unforgettable enough to bring me back again. What I love most is how fresh and light everything feels while still delivering real depth. Each dish allows the ingredients to speak, making it possible to taste your way through the menu and experience multipl
Perla is busy, run fairly factory-like. Big crowds, with families early and lots of groups. Beautiful decor, good vibe. We sat at the outside bar and there seemed like alot of regulars who get more attention from the bartenders. In general, the place is loud. Happy hour oysters for $1 is a deal and they were tasty, but take a little while to get. We got lots of nibbles as well, chickpea salad is pretty much a bowl of chickpeas with herbs and dressing, so fair warning. Fish and chips were tasty with a thick crunchy batter. Menu is not huge. Prices trend high for food and drinks, so the bills adds up, but it seems like a high rolling crowd. Downside for us is we were overcharged an extra round of drinks and when we pointed it out, the bartender came back with a "corrected" bill, but nary a
