We have wanted to try out Peacemaker for a number of months, as it’s a relatively newer addition to the Downtown Kirkwood area. We finally decided to bite the bullet, despite the abundance of low reviews online. First off, the atmosphere is the strongest variable here. It’s more of a shared common space, think food hall but only with one restaurant. They share the dining area and patio with 4 Hands Brewing, a locally owned bar with upscale drink choices. The service was when things started to go downhill. This place is pretty much team-based service, meaning you don’t have a specific server. You order at the window, and then a random person checks on you if you’re lucky. The food was not great. We started with the Hush Puppies, which were pretty hard. They were overly fried and lacked f

We started in the restaurant part, but migrated to the bar side because it was decorated for Mardi Gras and was adorable. My husband got the Connecticut lobster roll since he doesn't like mayo and I got the shrimp po boy. Both apparently came with homemade chips, but we didn't know that so we paid extra for fries. We also got hush puppies, because why not?! I topped the night off with the specialty drink, The King Cake Espresso Martini. It seemed really sweet so the bartender suggested how to make it less sweet and she killed it. It was so good! This is not the first time we've been here and it definitely won't be the last!

We ordered almost everything off the menu. Out of everything we only liked about 3 things. The mussels, the shrimp and the chips. The lobster and crab rolls, steamed buns were very bland and too much of the over buttered bun. The clams were like a gush of salt water in your mouth. The chicken strips (we had picky kids with us) were mostly breaded and it overly cooked. The cocktails were not made properly. They didn't refill our water at all. You have to order and pay at the table before you eat. What is the point in paying for it all before hand when your table of 5 is ignored the rest of the time. The bartender doesn't know how to make a gin and tonic or a manhattan. I was hoping to eat crab legs but they don't sell crab legs at tbis location. Or lobster. It was really disappointing for s

Two of us came for lunch on a Tuesday. The layout was difficult to navigate. They have a side patio, indoor and a back patio. Took us a second to find the main entrance. The food was not worth the price. A single small lobster roll served with fries or chips was $37. It's the type of place where you order with a QR code and we had to order drinks and food separately. The service was nice enough and the place was clean, and well put together. All together, with tip, spent $53 for one person. Wasn't worth it.

Honestly, I was skeptical of coming here after reading the reviews. But our small group went anyways and it ended being a fun time. We absolutely love the outdoor patio & atmosphere with 4 hands Brewing! However, the food could use some work. Our group just got Connecticut and Maine style lobster rolls, but the flavor was significantly lacking. I thought the portion of the lobster itself was decent compared to what the reviews we’re saying. Overall, fun experience & would go again, but I do wish I took the reviews about the food not being worth the price more seriously!
