Paragon Inn Hillsboro

To be honest- we have been staying here until our home is finished and I will say, they have been super polite- super awesome about giving us the same room & have updated and remodeled the place quite tastefully. Why this motel has a low rating I’ll never know- easily the kindest staff, nicest and easy going motel I’ve been to around here. Thank you guys for making our stay easy!

This visit was a last minute one, so I was trying to find a better deal for the night. We had passed on this hotel several times before, just because it was small. We usually stay at the Day Inn, just because it's a chain. For the price, I was pleased. Cosmetically, it is outdated, but it was CLEAN and the staff lady was super nice and friendly. My room was on the farther end and we could not pick up the wifi. She did tell us that when we checked in, and she apologized. There was a table/chairs, microwave, fridge. The tub could have used a good cleaning (maybe hard water?) and the fridge needed to be wiped down. The tv had 2 remotes that we had to figure out how to use. Three stars for effort, two for comfort, and one for the coffee pot that never was. The Paragon Motel promised a cozy stay with caffeine on tap—but alas, the coffee pot was missing, presumed never purchased. I stared at the empty counter like it owed me an apology and a medium roast. The bed? Imagine sleeping on a sidewalk wrapped in a fitted sheet. I woke up feeling like I’d lost a fight with a granite countertop. On the bright side, my spine now spells out “HELP” in Morse code. We left a $5 tip because we figured someone should be compensated for the plot twist of “The Case of the Phantom Coffee Pot.” Coming soon to a motel near you. For lower cost motels I'm usually more skeptical of independent motels than chain motels. But Paragon was showing good reviews and had one of the lower prices so I gave it a shot. Super clean, and everything in the room looked and seemed pretty new, from lighting to flooring to shower to furniture. Also I got there around 11 at night and it was pretty full - if they had any junky rooms, I would have gotten it. But it was great. Not luxurious, but nice, new, and clean. Only downside would be if you can't stand firm beds. They were definitely firm. I would definitely stay there again. (September 2025)

Usually we stay at the hillsboro inn and suites when we come from working on the road to visit my family but my husband stayed here. My husband woke up with bed bugs on him and bed bug bites. He realized there was dried blood on the pillows and seen the black spots(bed bug poop) on the mattress. He had to take all his clothes to the laundry mat before coming to my parents house since i cant travel with him anymore because im pregnant. Its beyond disappointing and we usually have a good experience in this guys properties because they own both places. All i can say is i recommend fumigating all your rooms and maybe even investing in new bedding and honestly everything pillows and mattresses. It also smelled of what i thought was mold but bed bugs usually make it musty smelling themselves. D
