Papa's Tapas

Great location overlooking the ocean and watching the sunset. Food was good. The fresh catch was exceptional. Loved the cauliflower, goat croquettes, calamari too. Crab artichoke dip didn’t have much crab, but was still good. Potatoes looked amazing but not much flavor. Brie with the mango chutney was good, but Brie would have been far better had it been warmed. We will be going back and trying some of the other dishes too!

All the tapas were super flavorful. The highlights were the garlic shrimp and the cauliflower bites. The drinks were potent as well. The rooftop seating area was perfect for enjoying the food with a nice breeze. The location was great too, right by the shore.

The staff are pleasant, but they dont seem happy. I'm really not impressed with the cleanliness of the tables. The were dirty and sticky. I don"t eat fish but there were several options on the menu. Then I asked if the fries are fried in the same oil they said yes....what? That happened at the last place we ate at and everything tasted fishy. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to any Vegetarians or non-fush eaters. It seems like they do not tell their customers this and the waitress looked at me strangely like I asked her a stupid question...not everyone eats fish, and it ruins the taste of other foods when you fry everything in that same oil....GROSS!!! After a long day of scuba diving I was hunting for food. I kinda accidentally got beached up in Papa’s Tapas bar in Kona Hawaii. This proved to be a very miraculous choice. I ordered four tapas based on the bartenders recommendation and I must say… wow… they were all delicious 😋 and although the portions where rather big my plates emptied in no time. Soooo good… Try also “The lighten up”🍹 or “Ginger Pama Inu” cocktail, they are both delicious. 😋 Very friendly service! Great ambiente and seaside view. Papa’s Tapas gets five stars from me - I am coming back.
