Wow, the fish was so tasty. We opted for the fish plate. We tried Cajun ono and Cajun opakapaka (snapper) and garlic/butter/lemon opakapaka. For the sides we tried the fries and Cajun rice and potatoes. The quality of the fish = fresh (5 stars). They asked whether we wanted to upgrade from the 6oz. Lunch portion to the 8 oz dinner portion but we stayed with the former. So much food y’all! I liked the rather large chunks of cabbage in the tart/creamy slaw. We had to ask for a box to take some home. This was such a great place to have a weekday lunch. It seems to be on the “highly recommended” list for tourists because there were a number of people with stickers on their shirts lined up after 12:30.
We've visited twice in January 2026, and the place is always busy. One of the better local choices for a casual meal with great fresh seafood. We love a good fish sandwich, and also had it over salad, both great! Ono was fantastic, Mahi Mahi, and I believe we tried one other I can't recall. Note, if you can’t find street parking, there is additional parking behind their building if you turn into the entrance on Hekili St. Great option after spending the morning at the Lanikai or Kailua beaches, only a few minutes away. Seriously, they should consider opening a location in NYC!
We decided to stop here for lunch and really enjoyed it. You can sit outside, which we did, because the weather was just perfect-sunny but not hot. I loved the fried calamari, really crispy and tasty. The food overall has that nice homemade flavor, fresh and satisfying. Such a great spot in Kailua with a relaxed vibe and even chickens and birds walking around
No wait at lunch on a Friday in early February. Food was really good, decently priced, large portions. The place is very clean and quite contemporary. There are plenty of options of food for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend the fish dishes. Tacos are good as well. Quesadillas are nothing to write home about.
We had high hopes but the food didn’t live up to them. We had the ono (Cooked too long and dry) and the Mahi Mahi ( was just average). The hand cut fries were average. The clam chowder hardly had any clam. Not a bad place but not great either.
