Olde Salty

Great local hole in the wall restaurant on the Carolina Beach boardwalk. The service was great, and the food was even better. They serve canned beer and liquor, among other drinks. We had the chicken wings, which were fresh(not like they had been in a freezer)and the Salty's steam pot.(crab legs, shrimp, mahi, clams, corn, sausage)The crab legs were huge. All the seafood was fresh, not fishy. It also came with cole slaw, hushpuppies, and fries. There was so much food leftover we are making another dinner out of it.

Service great, food just OK. The restaurant is small, and the bartender covers the table service as well. Everything was hot and served together. I had the teryaki chicken with pineapple, and while the chicken breast was cooked well, it really would have benefited from a marinade or dry spice rub, as it was cooked, rather than the pineapple slice and sauce just put on top... Zero depth of flavor. My wife had salmon and. said the flavor was good. While I wouldn't seek out Olde Salty as a destination restaurant, I would eat here again in a pinch.

Nice seafood place got the seafood boil and it had a nice amount of food to bad they were out of one of the foods but they hooked it up with more shrimp which was good. The Cajun seasoning was great I just wish the corn was more flavorful it was kinda bland. Service was quick and very friendly.

Place was busy when we walked in. They only had one person serving the bar and dining room. She did an amazing job having to do both! Food was very good!

We ate a lot of seafood during our anniversary trip to Carolina Beach but Saltys was the best! We werent sure we were at the right place and two older men outside on the bench seemed to notice and yelled "go ahead and go in! The food is great!" That's always a good sign. Turns out we were at the right place. No frills but plenty of chills. Had a few beverages while I waited on my catfish ans my wife waited on her crab legs. Wow! Big portions, delicious, and some great down south friendliness and service. A hotspot for locals with plenty of regulars and you can see why. We will definitely be back when we come and visit the area. It's establishments like this that make the Carolina Beach boardwalk a special place.
