Blackburn Brothers Seafood

So disappointed! We stopped to get some shrimp today to go with a ribeye. What’s better than surf & turf at the beach, right? It smelled awful when we went inside to order but hey it’s SEAfood! Nope! That should have been a red flag. We got a 1 1/2 pounds of peeled and deveined shrimp. We went straight home to prepare. Once we opened the bag of shrimp, the stench filled the kitchen with a rancid rotten fish smell that made us gag! Shrimp should smell like the salty ocean. Wasted $25!

We come to Carolina Beach every year to fish. We always come here for bait. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming. It is always so refreshing to walk in and know that they are going to help you with your requests with a smiling face every time. They always are stocked with fresh seafood for cooking as well. The prices are affordable as well which makes it even better. If you need bait or fresh seafood for dinner look no further. They are gonna take care of you for sure!

Hidden gem for fresh seafood! Will go back every visit, if staying close by. Highly recommend for their live blue crabs, best family and I’ve had in long time.

We went for shrimp. We come from out of town and asked if we could get individual lb bags. The person helping us gave a loud huff and asked how many. We asked for six. She huffed again and said “I guess” and started filling the bags and slamming them down while cussing under her breath. She made very sure to let us know how badly we inconvenienced her. I wish she just would’ve just said “no, it’s not ok to get individual bags” ..we bought $100 worth of shrimp and I made sure to say “I apologize that this was such an inconvenience for you” and she quietly said “it’s fine” Also there were other people working in there and they acted like they didn’t see what was happening. Will never step foot in there again.

Good stuff, but make sure you ask where it came from. Oysters were awesome. I should have bought the whole SC shrimp. I got some already cleaned, and I bet they weren't local. I'll buy the whole ones next time.
