New Hanover County Public Library - Pleasure Island Branch

What a wonderful library. I was pleasantly surprised when visiting this location. The staff are super welcoming, informative, and very sweet to not only my kids, but every kid that I’ve seen come in. They do monthly activities, have a play area, welcome pets, and so much more. My daughter got her first library card here and she was stoked. She loves stopping by to play and read. This place is always clean and I never mind coming by and hanging out for a bit.

My family absolutely loves the Pleasure Island branch! It has the friendliest and most helpful librarians. I bring my two year old here often, she loves the children's area, which has a play kitchen, coloring table, puzzles, and games. She also loves the robotic pets available to check out and read to. I personally love the convenience of putting books on hold. If they are not available at this branch, they have a courier bring from one of the other local branches if the book is available. We are so lucky to have this library here on the island!

This is the little library that could, the staff makes each trip easy and they are a pleasure to talk with. The library itself is a little small but makes the most of their space. The way I take full advantage of our library is to order the books I want and then pick them up, we are really lucky to have these wonderful librarians working here on our island. 5 stars for a reason, they earned it. It's very small and cute. Great for kids! My daughter loved the sitting area. The librarians are extremely helpful. There are a lot of cumputer stations too! We enjoyed our visit!

Great library! What they don't have, they can get for you in a snap from the rest of the county libraries. Very friendly and helpful staff and tons if unique activities for children are held there on a regular basis! Most certainly worth checking out if you are in the area and have a county card.
