Ocean View Inn Kenai

We stayed at Carma's Ocean View Kenai to be near to friends in Kenai as they were hosting their wedding at the Cannery Lodge. The house is luxurious, spacious, welcoming and supremely functional. The showers belong in a spa. The sunsets over the ocean, in frame by the living room window, are superb. The walk to the public beach access takes about ten minutes, and the walk to Cannery Lodge about fifteen minutes, and we walked to both destinations multiple times over the course of our stay. The house has more than you need to be relaxed and comfortable, and all of the furniture and details feel cozy and thoughtful. We didn't want to leave! Our first stay in Kenai and it could not have been more lovely. Carma made every nook and cranny feel like home! Her home was spotless, warm and cozy and held our family as if it were our own. Sitting on the beautiful (very large) deck and just enjoying each other and the view was one of our favorite things to do- from the fire, to game playing to watching a moose slowly meander thru the green belt and the constant flow of eagles overhead - wow! JUST WOW!! Every morning we collected fresh eggs from the “ladies” in the hen house and we all looked so forward to it- honestly, we’re really going to miss so much about this stay. It’s taken a gentle hold of us and will be with us forever! Thank you!!

We were pleasantly surprised to to find such luxury as we were not sure what to expect as the place had just opened. Clean, charming and multi-leveled it seemed both spacious and still somehow very cozy. My teenager enjoyed her own private bird's eye loft where she could look down on us, and my husband, who hates closed in spaces, loved the high ceilings. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, continental breakfast and private little balcony where I could enjoy my morning coffee (all in the room) and read my guides while my lazy bones family slept in. Was able to get great recommendations from the owner and didn't have to share any hallways or entrances. Definitely one of the nicer places we have stayed.

We had an amazing experience staying here! Right off the gate, we were pleasantly surprised to open the fridge and find it stocked with breakfast food, drinks, and even homemade smoked salmon. Carma did a great job offering ideas on how to make the most of our trip in the Kenai Peninsula! To top all of this off, we woke up and went to bed with a clear view of the ocean. We'd recommend this Inn in a heartbeat!

Very difficult to make a reservation or check availability by phone. Called for multiple stays and Inn never returned calls/messages. After talking to the proprietor months later, I was blamed for not using Airbnb or VRBO, but instead calling. We ended up staying at Cannery Lodge and Aspen Suites. Disclaimer: I’ve never stayed at Ocean View Lodge. My review is only about the difficulty to make reservations, lack of follow up, and horrible customer service. Updated: We were never upset that we couldn’t stay at Ocean View, only upset that no class were returned to say unavailable or stay too short. However, things work ou since customer service is so bad!
