Service deserves more than 5 stars…they set up and cook for you! I also loved the side dishes. The restaurant is clean and each table has their own little section which is nice. They also offer seafood options like clam and mussels which I thought was fun.

I'm pretty sure I could've trekked to Mordor and back in the time it took me to get to Obaltan on a Friday night, but ugh, it's fine, whatever. Mordor doesn't have grilled clams, right? Anyway, come here to feast on the Clam Gui Combo, which gives you an ocean's worth of the briney mollusks + an assortment of other seafood bites for $52...for two people! Seriously. I don't think you'll find a better clam deal unless the city of Boston knocked on your door and offered itself for free. Other good bites: Kimchi Pajeon, large and crispy. And Boodae Jjigae, when you need sausage ramen stew to warm your insides. If I can get a giant eagle to fly me here, I'd totally come back.

Felt just like clam BBQ back in Korea 🙆‍♀️ so good! 🐚🔥 Dipping the clams in butter is amazing 😋 And you have to get the kkakdugi fried rice + add corn cheese! 🥹 Easily my #1 spot in New Jersey 💯” Oh, and there might be a wait 🫢 so make a reservation if you can !

If you love Korean BBQ and seafood, this place is a must. Obaltan combines the best of both worlds from sizzling beef and pork grilled right at your table to fresh clams and an incredible seafood assortment. Everything was super fresh, flavorful, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere is lively, the service is great, and it’s perfect for groups or date nights. Definitely a go-to spot for Korean surf and turf in North Jersey!

Marinated boneless ribs were incredible! The kimchi stew was also delicious. It is definitely is a place to come with a big group. Every stove seats 6.
