Nixon Family Restaurant

I picked up two containers of their chicken salad today (1/17/26) and everything is different. The label and recipe. It's so dry and tastes bland. I won't buy again until they switch back to the old recipe. Gross!

Bought some BBQ from Food Lion several days ago and I was shocked to see the BBQ in the container. Didn’t look or smell like BBQ. It was smush and not shredded or pieces of meat. It looked like a spread on potted meat. I have never seen BBQ like this. The taste was extremely mild, nothing to brag about. Will not purchase this again. Very disappointing! It then caused a MAJOR GI upset with 30 minutes after eating. Apparently despite the use by date the BBQ was bad!!!

Have been buying their BBQ and Cole slaw, the BBQ if you don't eat straight away it moles on you, and the Cole slaw the container bubbles up within a week or so. The pull dates show still supposed to be good for several weeks going forward. Food cost entirely too much to have to throw away. Used to be actual shredded pieces of pork, but now it's next to nothing, can't tell what it it is. I've thrown away my last container of slaw and BBQ away, and will after anyone I know from buying.

I don't buy their products from Food Lion. I buy it directly from the restaurant on River Rd. Then I know it's fresh and Food Lion didn't leave it out or leave old containers up that they should have discarded. Plus they sell more food than just BBQ, coleslaw, and hush puppies. My Mom loves the pimento cheese there.

Will never buy their bbq again. Bought today 12/2 from Food Lion
