Newcastle Inn

Liz and Carolyn could not have been nicer or more welcoming. Inn is in a beautiful period home with spectacular views of the Damariscotta River. The location is fun because just a short walk over the bridge take you into Damariscotta, a lovely Midcoast Maine town with shops, great restaurants and bookstore. Breakfasts were creative, with a small strawberry shortcake served as a breakfast appetizer on Valentine's Day! Our room was comfortable with Valentine's chocolates awaiting us. We stayed there 3 years ago, just after they opened, and our stay this time was just as delightful--we'll be back

What a great experience. From the moment we arrived and received a warm welcome, helpful tour, help with our bags and a lovely conversation in the bar to the day we left to a sad goodbye and offers to return, we felt at home. Rooms are cozy with top notch amenities ( including a white noise machine) and everything is sparkling clean. Topping off all of that, the breakfasts are divine and the service is perfection. We'll go back if we can!|It is also a great location from which to explore mid Coast Maine. Good restaurants, shops and hiking trails are easily accessible and the views from the inn are pretty.

My wife enjoyed a one-night getaway at the Newcastle Inn and had a wonderful time. The inn was comfortable, welcoming, and a perfect home base for the area. Carolyn was a fantastic host; warm, helpful, and genuinely attentive. My wife truly appreciated the hospitality and would absolutely stay again!

We had a wonderful experience staying here during the Darmiscotta Pumpkin Festival. The grounds are lovely, with water views. Our room was comfortable, large, and attractive. The service was very friendly and the breakfasts delicious. It’s an easy walk into Darmiscotta and a quick drive to Wiscasset. There are a few common living areas and a large deck, and it was very quiet—we barely heard the other guests. I would definitely stay here again.
