Newark Free Library

This library will always have a special place in my heart because I worked there over 20 years ago, and it's also where I met my husband. I still visit other branches, but Newark has a great collection and is closer to my home. I find interesting things to check out, I admire the variety of programming and clubs held at this branch, and the staff are friendly.

Older building, but nicely kept. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice private study and meeting rooms that you can reserve for free which is a great plus. Lots of Kindle books available to check out electronically from home in addition to paper books at library.

The movie section is very organized and easy to find your selection. Nicely run quite place.

I am very grateful for the existence of such a valuable third space in Newark, when so few exist here in town. In an increasingly hectic and digital world, the Newark Free Library provide a haven where people can feel welcomed, respected, and free to explore their interests and passions without judgment or discrimination from its staff. This place represents one of the few true accessible and inclusive spaces where folks can seek information, access educational resources, and connect with supportive networks. As bastions of inclusivity and diversity, libraries continue to serve as vital anchors in our communities, fostering understanding, empathy, and resilience among all who enter their doors. Support this library -- and all other local public libraries.

NFL, offers so many free programs for all ages and interests. We've attended the family movie event, puppet shows, reading time, holiday events and more! The library staff have always been present and understanding of our daughter's fussy moments. She loves the library as much as we do and we love taking the library home with us whenever we visit. Although we haven't yet been called to assist with any community events, as members, we would gladly leap at the opportunity. Thank you for NFL for your services to our community!
