Multnomah County Library - Troutdale

Smaller library with normal resources. They provide headphones if asked. The small space makes it so it is never quiet. The ones behind the counter talk constantly in different languages with no desire to produce an environment for reading, but rather a coffee shop sort of atmosphere. I wish our libraries in these pretty cities had a standard of reading and not of visiting. If you plan to talk in more than one language, use electronics, or gossip, this is a 5 star library. If you want to read I give it 2 stars unless you are deaf. Rudy and Griselda were the people who helped me today. If you like this sort of environment, which the majority do, give them a raise.

very kind and helpful staff here at my recent visits. i had volunteered for the summer reading program many years ago and the staff were just as great, so it's nice that has continued. i was able to get a new library card very quickly, just put some information in on the computer and picked the card up at the front desk after submitting it. the library is a bit on the smaller side but i was able to find some great books for my classroom and for myself. i was able to find some books that were more math focused and others that introduced more niche cultural experiences to children. for the size this location has a lot of computers and free events, great resources :)

It’s a bit small but there’s 12 computers available to use and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

The librarians at this location have always been lovely to my daughter and I, they have a variety of books in Spanish. A sweet play station for kids. The energy is always so welcoming there.

I really appreciate this cozy library and the incredibly helpful people who work there. My kiddos and I love to go in and find a good weekend read. The energy is peaceful and calm, and helps us slow down and be grateful for the little things…like good books!
