Mr.R - Fusion Street Food

Really enjoyed the Korean Chicken Wings. Very crispy and had lots of flavor and a sweet flavor as well. I could have had them even spicier personally. “Spaghetti” and Meatballs were a nice fusion dish and I enjoyed them with udon noodles. I would recommend asking to get it with a runny yolk as I think that would make it even better. A comment to the staff for improvement. While the stamp to order makes for a fun change, it isn’t clear how to order appetizers to get them ahead of time. I ordered wings and then a main dish to share, but they came out at the same time. Our noodles got cold while we ate our wings because the wings were a finger kind of dish. Maybe it was miscommunication thinking we wanted the wings as a main dish though.

After attending a local festival, my companions and I couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat, but thanks to Google we found Mr.R, which offers a fusion of Asian, Italian, and American foods. Upon entering, you get a fusion vibe of retro diner and hipster chic. We were immediately greeted and seated by a member of the staff. We were given one menu to share and a small red stamp for stamping the items that we wanted. I did enjoy the stamping process. The food came out much quicker than I anticipated and after the first plate arrived, new dishes were arriving every 3-5 minutes. The dumplings arrived first. I recently dined at this fantastic Asian fusion restaurant, and it was an unforgettable culinary journey. The pulled pork dumplings were an absolute revelation, easily the best I've ever had. But the surprises didn't stop there – the small Japanese pancakes (desert), shrimp kataifi, and seafood curry soup were all equally outstanding. What truly sets this place apart, besides the extraordinary food, is its inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were not only helpful but incredibly nice, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. Everything was impeccably clean, which only added to the overall comfort. In addition, this restaurant takes you on a culinary adventure that's unlike any other in Newport, RI. It's a refreshing departure from the ordinary dining options in the area. I

The grilled? squid was REALLY good!!! We also ordered curry and lobster fried rice and both were great. Their rice was slightly undercooked but other than that everything was delicious and well portioned. Staff were so nice and friendly too! Would recommend!

My family and I were very intrigued by the concept of fusion food this place offered so we decided to try it out. Great atmosphere and selection of menu items. Their appetizers/tapas are life- changing!!! The only downside would be the forgetfulness of the server, we had to ask for water multiple times. Also, the steak entree was lacking seasoning and hard to chew. Other than that, we had a good experience!
