The Outlook Inn

My husband and I just spent a few days in Newport and stayed at the Outlook Inn. What a great spot in downtown Newport! The room was large and well equipped. Everything was clean and in a quiet area, but close to everything. The big surprise was the delicious breakfast they served each morning. Beautifully prepared and enough choices for probably anyone to be very satisfied. You also had the option of eating on the outdoor patio, but it was a little cold for us Florida natives. We had a little issue with the coffee maker in the room, and one phone call got it taken care of. They replaced it with a new one that worked perfectly. Strongly recommend! We stayed here for a one day/night couples getaway. It was the perfect location. We were able to walk to dinner, the cliff walk, and bowen’s wharf! Serena was so nice and helpful. The breakfast was great. The room was the perfect size. I couldn’t ask for more for my first B&B experience!

We come to Newport every year for the Seafood Festival at Bowen's Wharf and love trying new places to stay but the Outlook Inn will be very hard to top! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, especially Serena, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The room (we stayed in Room 3) was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed, with thoughtful touches throughout. The half kitchen was a great bonus — the large fridge and sink came in handy more than once. Each morning started with a delicious breakfast, and we couldn’t get enough of the rooftop views — simply stunning and such a relaxing spot to unwind. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the festival and many great restaurants and shops, yet tucked away enough

So impressed with this place and especially with Serena. I have been vacationing in Newport for a long time, and I’ve never been this impressed with a location. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed, and the service is top notch. I plan on coming back and recommending to my friends and family.

This was our second stay at the Outlook Inn, both times in October. We had the same room both times (room 4), and we love it. The bed is so comfortable, the bathroom is well-appointed, and you have control over the HVAC system, which is really nice. The linens are very soft and warm. The breakfast is always delicious, and served in a room on the top floor with beautiful views. You can go up there in the evening too, at sunset or to check out the nightscape of Newport. I've stayed in several places in Newport, and this is definitely the best! The inn is pricey on weekends, so I would recommend visiting on a weeknight if your budget is tight. Newport is more relaxed on weekends as well, and it's nice to go to the mansions when they are less crowded.
