Mitsuba Japanese Cuisine

Food is actually fair as compared to what we have tried for other japanese resto. Crews are pleasant. Ample spacing between tables, comfortable seats. High chair seen. Restroom is clean and smells neutral. Parking is difficult if it gets busy. See images and video for reference.

Great little story: more than 20 years ago I found myself inexplicably single (lol) and walked into Mitsuba (Chatham) just as it opened — I might have been their second-ever customer. I scanned the menu and wanted a lot of sushi, but not the Full “Love Boat.” I told them, “I’m not in love, and that’s too much food. Can I get something about half the size and half the price?” They brought out what you see in the photo. I was satisfied and joked, “When I come back, can we call this the Lonely Boat?” And that’s how it stuck. It isn’t on the menu, but if you walk in and ask for “Mr. Howard’s Lonely Boat,” they’ll know what you mean. Had eel was very good…I walked in when staff was eating in the main area. They were good. But you can’t eat and help customers.

Edit: updating rating to 5 star. Second visit, had excellent sushi rolls. Service was exceptional as well. Still one of the more expensive options, but good none the less. Original Review: Really impressed by the sashimi and sushi they put out. Probably the largest cuts of fish ive gotten at a sushi restaurant. On the flip side, it came with a premium price tag. Still, I would definitely recommend and will likely be back.

this place is easy to find from the street. there is street side parking. there is someone to greet you and our server came just the right amount of times - wasn't excessive and we also didn't feel neglected. the food is good. I asked for a recommendation and what I got was good but not amazing hence not 5 stars. I would come again but perhaps might try a different sushi next time. my friend's entree had good flavor and the chicken was moist and well flavored.
