When traveling through that area I would always make it a point to stop and eat there, especially on Sunday because they had a nice buffet. I loved all the animal mounts on the walls and there were a ton of them. Well, I happened to be traveling through today and right around lunch time, so I was excited to stop, but was worried about getting a table because it was alway busy with the buffet. The parking lot was just about empty and that had me concerned. As we walked in, I saw there was no buffet and all but just a few mounts on the wall were gone. The BBQ in the past was good, but not extraordinary, but the atmosphere made it a great experience. Now, it's just another average Texas BBQ restaurant and I guess that accounts for the lack of customers. I don't think I'll be returning.
Well it’s bbq! It was not even HOT my tummy is sensitive and I am a cook definitely not at 220 nor 169. So yes I worry about getting sick but their side items or dishes were not looking too too great dry pasta already cracking, dry potatoes looked like boiled only beans looked like canned. The bbq sauce I tasted like tomato sauce and added onions or something. Not special at all. I got peas salad wishing for creamed corn at least. At least the salad was cold enough to eat. Just surprising to me supposedly famous? Ribs were good but not hot brisket also was cold questionable how they are open. So it was dead when we came not a person in site. Maybe better sides and hotter meat. We came before 3 times when we traveled but now maybe skip it for me not worth the 50 we paid but thank you for y
Must stop for truckers, parking and bathrooms. Solid food at a good price mainly saves the hassle of having to drive deeper into town. This is right off the freeway.
Very clean, open and attentive staff. Sausage and potato was nice large portions all other sides are medium potions, we didn’t like the pea salad because of the mushy texture, it just didn’t seem fresh, the prices were good at 8$ Brisket was average flavor and was easy to cut with a knife. I’ve had better that’s why I gave it a 3 star even though I don’t have a lot of negative to say about it. They offer drive through too! No military discount here. Can accommodate a large group.
Has decent food. I had the three meat plate to try a little bit of everything. Chicken was super soft and delicious but the sausage tasted and felt old. The brisket was pretty good and soft. We decided to try it after seeing sign on the road. The inside looks pretty cool. Bunch of animals mounted on the walls.
