Easy seating and good service. Just stopped in for some chowders and quahog stuffies. Chowders were good and the stuffies had little clam in them. Diet coke was good. We sat upstairs and it was decorated nicely for the holiday season.

Midtown Oyster Bar is a popular spot on Thames Street with a lively atmosphere and a large raw bar offering a wide selection of local and regional oysters. With its casual atmosphere, Midtown Oyster Bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal or share drinks with friends. While the seafood is fresh and the multi-level space with outdoor decks creates a fun, social vibe. It tends to get very crowded and noisy. Prices are on the higher side for what you get, making it a decent option if you’re already downtown, but not necessarily a standout.

We had an excellent lunch with great service! The oysters were so fresh and delicious. The Tuna poke and my bloody mary were fantastic. Highly recommend.

An excellent seafood restaurant in downtown Newport. We’ve enjoyed Midtown on several occasions because of their nautical decor, amicable service, and menu variety. We shared the Lobster and Corn Soup and Quahog Stuffies and both were incredibly tasty. Mussels and Fries were served with a perfectly flavored garlic aioli and the Lobster Roll was hot, buttered, and suited my cravings. Definitely recommend stopping in for some fish fare when strolling down Thames.

In town 5 nights visiting and My wife and I were out walking and wondering where we were going to get dinner. Stopped in and looked at menu and decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar. I started with 3 oysters and they were so delicious I had to get more. We had Charred octopus (as good as it gets), wicked shrimp, lobster roll and truffled fries. Everything was fresh and exceptional. Highly recommend.
