MeMa's Chick'n' & Ribs

We literally haven't even left the restaurant yet, and I just have to rave about how delicious this was! We ordered the fried mushrooms appetizer which was unique because it was sliced mushrooms. The batter was delicious with the mushrooms being lightly fried, and they stayed crispy the entire time which is awesome for fried food. We ordered a large fried shrimp platter, and these are probably the best fried shrimp I've ever had! My fiance really liked the coleslaw as well and the fries. We also ordered the small pulled pork platter with fried okra. The pulled pork was so tasty that it didn't even need the barbecue sauce that came with it! The fried okra was crispy and delicious. We were thought we were finished and full until one of the owners came by the table to ask us about dessert. Th

Had a great lunch here! All the food was hot and fresh. I’m a vegetarian and enjoyed the fried mushrooms, zucchini, salad, coleslaw and mac & cheese. Also had a bite of the banana pudding which was delicious. The staff were kind and courteous, and talked to us like we were family. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. Will definitely be back.

Yoi absolutely can not go wrong with this fantastic restaurant. The staff amazing the good excellent. Meat isn't dry it's cooked to perfection and is tender.The dessert amazing. The atmosphere was great. Very neat and clean. This is a must go to in Wilmington. And their house made bbq sauce soooo good we had to buy some to take home with us.

The brisket is scrumptious, and that skillet cornbread was as well. Everything we had was good. The service was too notch, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very nice and clean. It’s on our list for every trip to Wilmington! And they even have Cheerwine like all proper smokehouses should.

From one military family to another, we appreciate your services and your hospitality. Not only does this family-ran, black own business have amazing food and hospitality, but the diner is astonishing from the art to the decorations to the clean restrooms--an absolutely amazing experience. My first time in Wilmington, NC and this restaurant is the first place my oldest daughter brought us to. I 100% recommend. Go eat, enjoy and leave satisfied!
