Melbourne Beach Public Library

I love this library—it’s so quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect spot to sit down and get a bunch of work done. There’s plenty of seating, and the whole space is clean and well-maintained. Definitely a great environment for focus and productivity!

Rules, rules, rules. This library is not kid friendly. Warning signs posted every 2 feet about keeping eyes on your children at all times. I obviously try my best to watch my children, but I have 3 kids looking for 3 different kinds of books. So I can’t always see all three of them at the same time, but they are not more than a few feet away. The signs about rules posted all over makes me feel very unwelcome and nervous. The one librarian in particular (older blonde, but I don’t know her name) scolded my 3 year old for some very normal, non destructive behavior (skipping, peeking over the edge of the check out desk, setting books down loudly). She seems to have never met a child before in her life. I can almost guarantee that she is the curator of the obnoxious signs. Not to mention the ch

Absolutely love this library! It was a perfect stop for a day of errands with my three year old. The kid section was wonderful!! While smaller than other libraries, they use every bit of space correctly. There was a mix of eye catching decor, puzzles, imagination centers, and of course lots of books to read. For this book-loving momma, the staff was super helpful - especially Ms. Kathleen. I had a list of books I was interested in. She helped me go home with 5 different books (including more recent releases) and helped me request a few more so that I can get them when they become available. :) Will be going there again soon!

My kids and I are at the library weekly. The ladies there are always so kind, (even when my son is acting like a feral animal).. A few of them even know him by name now, I feel like they get to see him grow up as well! We have participated in their summer reading program for 2 summers now and my kids have loved their weekly check-ins to earn badges and let Miss Grace know how many minutes they read each week. I have always loved reading and getting to see my children excited over new books and trips to the library is just the best. My teenage daughter even enjoys coming now as we've become closer through trying new authors and books lately. It's always a pleasant experience at this library and I hope all the ladies there know how much we appreciate everything they do!
