Matsuya Quality Japanese Eats

Had a delicious meal at Matsuya! The sushi and sashimi platters were extremely fresh, and they went beautifully with some chilled sake. Linda was also a welcoming and attentive server, giving us great recommendations based on our individual tastes. Will definitely be back!

Let me start by addressing the "sushi density" in just a few blocks is getting more intense than the pizza shops around here, but this 'might' be ok. (in the town of Roslyn, we now have Kotobuki, Yuzu, Matsuya, and Okaru in spitting distance of each other). But dont get confused, as each services a different niche. I was initially thrown off guard here . How did a good sushi place from Great Neck get transplanted into a Roslyn deli? Usually if getting sushi at a deli, you are taking many risks. But not with Matsuya. Not only do they make their sushi creations as works of art, it was fresh and tasted very good as well (see photo). Wow. Was beyond my expectations and I have had sushi in some of the best places in the world. This is on par. Fish was fresh and amazing. Everyone was so friendly. For an amazing sushi experience sit at the sushi bar. You won't be disappointed. Such a delightful place.
