What a great experience I had here! Loved the food taste, presentation, and value for the money! It was truly a pleasure to the palate! As a Wedding and Event DJ based in Miami, South Florida, and the Florida Keys, and being of Cuban descent, I was not expecting Cuban food this tasty around these parts. I was here in Nola on vacation. Rachel our server was friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was delightful and really contributed to the dining experience. Also loved the throwback 1950s era throwback pics on the walls and Mambo era Cuban music playlist. The story here is that the restaurant's namesake was a renowned bartender in Cuba, and some of the staff here actually went to Cuba to visit and get some training. There's even a cool outside patio. My only suggestion
I read about this place in the Conde Nast Traveler magazine, and I am so glad we went! It reminds you of some place you might be in Cuba with great decor. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We sat on the patio and got a couple of drinks (a frozen daquiri and a tossed beverage) and ceviche. Some of the best ceviche I've ever had. I was so excited I forgot to take a picture. Everything was well thought out and perfectly executed. This place is on our short list when we come back to New Orleans!
We were in town for the weekend of Halloween and the town was still pretty busy. We wanted something that was affordable and not touristy. We popped in around 5.30pm and the dinner rush was just picking up. Our meal was delicious and hot, and arrived in a timely manner. My wife is Venezuelan and she picked a dish that I was actually eyeing up too. She said it was similar to a traditional meal she used to have at home. We were very happy with the portion and the flavors. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and patient. The gentleman that greeted us at the door was very welcoming as well. I would definitely recommend Manolito for a delicious and casual meal when visiting the French Quarter.
Skip the gross frozen drinks on Bourbon Street and come here instead. If the weather’s nice, relax and have a late lunch on the patio. The Cuban sandwich is great.
they are so nice here! it was another hot day and they recommended a table right by the ac. we just stopped by for drinks and an app, highly recommend their double blended drinks! the miami vice was delicious. definitely coming back for main courses next time!
