Manistee County Historical Museum

For a small town museum they have a massive amount of items, very nicely displayed, and a very reasonable admission. Mark was great and answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable. Will definitely be back as they have enough stuff I guaranteed we missed some!

This venue is truly a hidden gem that deserves far more recognition. Many people likely walk past without realizing the depth of the history and the sheer quality of the artifacts housed within. The collection is absolutely amazing, and we found our experience here highly rewarding. A notable highlight of our visit was the gentleman managing the front counter. His deep knowledge and exceptionally helpful nature elevated the experience significantly (we wish we had gotten his name!). Given the wealth of information and incredible exhibits available for viewing, this museum is, without a doubt, a must-see destination that we plan to enthusiastically recommend to everyone.

Very cool gem to find. There are so many neat and interesting things to see and learn about. I can't imagine how long it takes to amass such a large collection of items and antiques. This place was out favorite stop when we visited Manistee. We can't wait to come back!

This is a hidden Gem I think a lot of people walk past and don’t realize Wow how amazing is this place with all the artifacts and the history in the museum We loved it The man at the front counter wish I would of got his name he was so helpful and knowledgeable about this place. So much to look at.I will definitely tell people it is a must see !!

Many artifacts in a historic building. Four rooms on one floor, yet all are packed with stuff. Took us about 55 minutes to see it all. My wife's ancestors were from Manistee; lived there from 1871 until the 1920s - and we found stuff about them! One was a band leader. Not all of it is specific to the area, a decent chunk is more generic. Yet Manistee's heyday was between 1880-1920 - and cool to see what it was like.
