I first came across Lá Liath at the Northwest Tea Festival so I decided to check out their physical location. I was not disappointed! They serve a mix of savory and sweet pastries traditional to the British Isles. There was only one staff member working when I visited who seemed to be doing all the baking, order packaging, and checking out, and they were extremely friendly and lovely to chat with. Everything I got here was delicious, but a few standouts: · Sausage rolls: only offered on the weekends, but absolutely phenomenal if you get there right at opening while they're fresh out of the oven. Incredibly flaky and flavorful. Meat-based or vegetarian! · Gala pie: another savory option, this one served cold. Exploding with flavor, especially with the mustardy piccalilli that comes with it
This isn't a gf kitchen but they do have gluten free options! Brownies and amaretti biscuits, the latter of which is my absolutely fav. Sweet and delicate, melt in your mouth, absolutely divine. You can also special order gf treats not on the default menu!
Easily one of the best bakeries in the city. A few friends and I tried 4 vegetarian savory items and 5 sweet treats. We were dazzled by each one. The flavors are unique and delicious, and the presentation and attention to detail is impressive. Highly recommend!!
The food here is delicious, and they're so good about taking orders for special dietary restrictions. I get treats for myself and order larger batches for the office all the time!
The best British Bakery I’ve been to outside of the UK. The Bakewell slice is divine and the base is crispy perfection. Definitely go on a weekend to get a sausage roll. Proper good. Grab a millionaire shortbread as well. Highly recommend and will be back! Everything is made with such care and perfection.
