Local Goat New American Restaurant

My husband & I wanted to try something different. We drove from Chattanooga to Ooltewah to try the Local Goat. He had bison Meatloaf w/baked potato, I had crab cake blt sandwich w/fries, my sister in law had the fish and fries. First we started off with the fried deviled eggs, which tasted great and presented very well. All of our food was really good. Our favorite was the crab cake blt sandwich. It was very good. Our server, Faith, was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Chris, the manager stopped by our table as well, he was friendly. I recommend you giving The Local Goat a try. It is definitely worth it.

Stopped here for dinner on the way home from FL. We are here probably every 1-2 months. They have a good menu with various items. I had a burger and my wife had the grilled salmon. The food presented well and it was served hot. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We did not have to wait for a table as it was after peak hours. The restaurant is clean with a casual atmosphere.

We founded this place on the way home to Michigan, from Florida.Ordered the Elvis Burger. Who would guess bananas would taste great on a burger. I added some jalapeños to it after a couple bites. Thought heat added a perfect kick. The Fondue Cheese was Great . Wife had a black and blue bison burger .. Which she loved also. We ended the night with slice of peanut butter pie..

Fried eggs were a hit! Vegan burger was delicious. Waitress was amazing. We were seated immediately. Food came out in a timely manner. Drinks were good! Valentine’s Day was a hit!

We honestly tried to give The Local Goat another chance, but all visits were disappointing in the exact same way. On our first visit, my husband’s steak came out nearly raw even though he ordered medium rare. We chalked it up to maybe just their interpretation of steak doneness and decided to try again. Last night we returned and ordered a medium steak and for $38, what we received was unacceptable. It was full of fat, poorly cooked, and nowhere near the temperature we asked for. At that price point, consistency and quality should be a given. I will say the staff is always amazing friendly, attentive, and the only reason we even came back for a fourth try. But whoever is working the grill seriously needs to go back to cooking school, because the execution is just not there. Unfortunatel
