L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

Stopped by on a Friday night and tried the Chicken Trio which comes with Chicken Katsu, BBQ Chicken, and Korean Chicken. The portions are massive, couldn't even finish it. The BBQ chicken was the standout for me; juicy and crispy. ​The only minor letdown was the Korean Chicken. It was a bit underwhelming in flavor and lacked that typical juiciness, though it wasn't exactly dry either. Might have just been an off night for that specific piece, because everything else was solid. Overall, great dish, would eat it again

Since we came to Kona, Hawaii we have been to a few L&Ls. We generally enjoyed the food in all the locations. Today we ordered BBQ Mix plate. While the food tasted good, but the beef were half the size compare to other locations. In addition the short rib was not only small, and most of it was fat, the eatable meat was about 1/3 compare to other stores.

Don't get the shrimp. Garlic shrimp is complete, tails, legs, breaded and fried. How are you supposed to eat that when it's piping hot and you can't get the meat out? I threw most of it away. Don't bother.

We came here for lunch and my food was not very impressive. They were very busy when we came, but my girlfriend loved her chicken Katsu, but my loco Moko was very anti-climactic. I would give it another chance, but I definitely would not get the Loco moko.

Prices were perfect for the giant serving size we received. BBQ chicken bowl and teriyaki beef bowl were delicious!
