The chicken lentil soup was so delicious. Chicken meatballs with spaghetti maranara was good nothing special. The pasta shrimp bacon and brussel sprout was very good. Creme brulle was good. Service was great atmosphere was very nice. Make a reservation.
As per previous reviews, the hostess gave attitude. I politely asked for a table for one, rather than being like “I’m sorry, we’re booked for the night but I can offer you a seat at the bar” she said with a nasty tone “ThEy’Re aLl ReSeRvEd” I’m like … okay? Also she probably discriminated because I did have my beach gear on me (but I didn’t look ugly, I tried to clean up nicely as best as I could); so fellow warning to other beachgoers. What really made up for it were the two gentlemen working at the bar (cause that’s where I was seated). They were both equally nice and super attentive. The food was okay. The oysters? 1000000/10. Wish I got a dozen. They gave me bread and butter as well … but the butter was sweet? Couldn’t explain the flavor. It threw me off but I liked it. The pasta was h
The drinks the best we have had in Long Beach. Had the octopus and mussels to start both were delicious, octopus was cooked perfect it was nice and tender and buttery. The halibut was also perfectly cooked with a crispy top and a very good creamed corn. The skirt steak was pretty good cooked to order.
Disappointing experience, especially considering the high prices. Even though it was takeout, I picked it up and ate it right away, so the quality shouldn't have dropped. I ordered the halibut and short rib based on reviews; the fish was a nice cut, but sat in a really bland corn chowder base. The short rib was surprisingly tough and flavorless as well. The octopus was tender, but fried, rather than grilled as I expected. Even the bread felt undercooked/doughy, and while the baked clams were good, even they had a bit too much lemon. I really expected more flavor / better quality for what we paid. I usually only review places when they’re amazing or a letdown, and unfortunately, this was the latter. Won’t be back.
This restaurant packed into a tight location really fits its name. An exceptional menu, outstanding service and a lively atmosphere make this a hot spot for dining in the heart of Long Beach. I ordered the rack of lamb off the specials menu and it was so good I cleaned the bones with zero shame. 10/10 highly recommend this spot
