Barrier Beets

A wonderful lunch during their soft opening recently. Can’t beat the view from their window seating! I’m so glad they’ve added a healthy eatery right on the Long Beach boardwalk, offering more than just burgers, fries, and ice cream. Great portions, and you can even build your own salad. My mother and I really enjoyed the fresh ingredients. The owners even came to our table to check on how everything was. The couple who owns it used to manage restaurants and has now given their own place a shot. Overall, a great experience at Barrier Beats, we loved the ambiance and décor and the food was great. Hope this place takes off!

Such great food, such wonderful service. Healthy, and SO TASTY. Plus the staff is just sweet & kind & cool. They make a homemade ginger-palmer that's my new favorite beverage. I got a super tasty salad with golden beets, arugula, feta, and perfectly marinated grilled shrimp. Next time I'm in Long Beach, I'll Def be back! Pics attached :)

I was so excited to try this new spot on the boardwalk and left pretty disappointed. Love that it's healthy, aesthetically pleasing, toasts were good but it is wildly expensive for such small portions!! I understand the location has a lot to do with it, but $8 for an 8 oz juice is insane. I didn't get one, but the salads are $20-23 and looked very small as well. I can't justify spending that for something that felt more like a snack than a meal.

Amazing spot and exactly what Long Beach needed. The salads are fresh, the proteins (salmon, skirt steak, chicken) are all excellent, and the toasts and daily soup never disappoint. Love the juices and the ginger Arnold Palmer. You can really taste the high-quality, fresh ingredients, and the owner is incredibly kind. Definitely check this place out.
